Hello Graphic Bibliophiles! If you have already joined, thank you and WELCOME to the missing dimension! You won't regret it. If you haven't joined yet, I hope you do. We have a good time. What is a graphic novel? The simpler answers include (1) a form of independent comics, (2) a longer-form but non-ongoing-series comic book, or (3) a novel-length sequential art narrative that treats subject(s) similar to those of other novels of both fiction and nonfiction. Join us if you are interested in broadening your horizons. We'll be reading fiction one month and non-fiction the next.
Looking to make new friends and enjoy good books? I am! Looking to meet once a month (or less depending on length of group) at my home for food, drinks, and good conversation. Fiction, and select non-fiction books would be selected which we would vote on. Just an informal group of women who like to read, and like to chat even more ;-)
I wanted to start up this book club for those that love history both non fiction and fiction including historical novels. This would also include military history. If you love learning about our past, this is the club for you!
Join other readers as we discover and learn about life and ourselves through collective reading! Fiction or non-fiction, paperback or hardcover, you?ll read a new book every month. Come to laugh, share stories and build some new friendships!
A great group of avant-garde women who want to read and talk about challenging literature - fictional and non-fictional. This is NOT your chic-lit group. We read classics like Rand, Lewis, and Twain. We read moderns like Friedman, Friedan, Robbins, and even Rowling. All for FUN. We're clever, raucous, valiant, and not afraid to use a dictionary!
I obtained this book club idea from a meetup group I was a member of in Durham, North Carolina that I miss terribly. We read and discussed a book, but we always selected a restaurant that continued the theme (setting or main characters). We would also select books that were turned into movies and read the book first and then go see the movie. This book club welcomes men and women who are avid readers because it is a joy to hear a wide range of opinions regarding books.
